Pastoral Visiting Team

The Ludlow Benefice of St Laurence’s and St John’s has a team of trained pastoral visitors who support and assist the clergy in the pastoral care of the parishioners. The team has both clergy and lay members. Our Christian faith calls us to care for others in the church and community who may be housebound, ill, experiencing loneliness, loss or bereavement.

The team offers:

  • a listening ear to anyone who is worried, lonely or just needs to talk.
  • home communion to those who are housebound.
  • visits to local residential homes including Hagley Place, Hendra House, Four Rivers, Churchill House and Alexandra House, seeking to bring the church to the residents. We also have links with the chaplains at Ludlow Hospital.
  • a weekly drop in for coffee and chat at St John’s church with a special focus once a month on supporting those experiencing bereavement and loss.

If you are interested in finding out more or maybe joining the team, contact the Pastoral Team Co-ordinator (details on our Contacts page).
