Outreach
We at St Laurence’s bring to our worship all our concerns for God’s world, and through our worship together are inspired to witness to God’s love in all the complexities of which we are part.
The Outward Concern Group ensures that we maintain our commitments in many different directions. Each year it makes donations to one international, one national and one local charity as well as supporting local needy families and Christian mission in the town. The total donated in 2019 was £4,400.

Fairtrade – St Laurence’s has a twice-monthly Fairtrade stall selling Traidcraft and other fair trade products to help the poor of the world with a special stall for Fairtrade Fortnight in February.
St Laurence’s works closely with other local churches. As an active member of Churches Together Around Ludlow (CTAL) it supports projects including:
Ludlow Food Bank – currently experiencing record levels of activity.
Wesley’s café – at Ludlow Methodist Church, Broad Street
Hands Together Ludlow – a group aiming to bring Christian values to bear on the social needs of the very diverse community of this town
Pulling Together Ludlow – a network of volunteers set up to support the community during the coronavirus lockdown
Christian Aid – events to support the needs of thousands of disadvantaged people round the world; the town regularly raises up to £12,000 a year
We work with other Anglican churches in our local Deanery to raise £1,000 per year to support a candidate for ordination at St Mark’s College in Tanzania.
We support Interfaith meetings in Herefordshire and South Shropshire.
St Laurence’s is proud to play a part in furthering international understanding and the breaking down of old barriers by continuing the link between Ludlow and the parish of Langwasser, near Nuremberg in Germany.
