Free Guided Tours, Group Visits, School Visits

We welcome some 60,000 visitors to St Laurence's each year.

To enhance your visit you may wish to join one of the FREE GUIDED TOURS which take place most Saturdays from mid April to mid November, except if the church is in use for special services or other specific eventsĀ (you can check if there is a guided tour planned by looking on our Events calendar). Usually each 45-minute tour starts at 2.15 pm though sometimes this may be slightly postponed if there is a preceeding event that overruns.

Led by one of our volunteer guides, each tour includes an introduction to the history of the building, sight of the main items of interest and an explanation of the Church's ministry, both past and present. If you particularly want to link a visit to the Church with a Saturday guided tour, itĀ is a good idea to check, in advance, our online calendar or with our Parish Office, to ensure that one is scheduled on the date you plan to visit.

Private group tours can be arranged to suit individual requirements in terms of specialist interest and timing. There is a small charge for these tours which can be booked through the Parish Office.

School Trippin'School parties are especially welcome but are strongly advised to check with us first that the Church will be available to avoid disappointment.

Guidance about your visit, an introduction to the Church, and free tours by experienced teachers can be provided by arrangement. Children's guides to the church are available to download below:
